Messy Ministry

I was looking around "my" office this morning trying to figure out places to put all the accumulating stuff that keeps finding it's way into the room, when it hit me - Ministry is messy! Especially ministry to children & youth. Not a lot of adult ministry needs fun foam, glue sticks, poster boards, craft sticks, or foam cut outs!
But ministry isn't just messy "stuff", it's messy emotionally, mentally & physicaly too. Counseling distraught teens or adults, hours of prayer for situations, hours of planning to pull off events, weeks at camps with little sleep, planning meetings, board meetings, phone calls....the list goes on forever.
How about you? Do you find yourself getting messy with ministry? If not, but you have the desire to, spend some time in prayer seeking what God would have you do. Give the church office a call, to see what needs there are that you might be able to fill. Volunteer to plan something or sponsor something. Spend a week at camp next summer as a dorm mom or dad.
There are endless possibilities if you're willing to get a little messy!
