Oak Grove Christian Church can be traced back to a movement that began in the early 19 th century on American soil. The movement was born in the pioneer days of rural America. Christian unity and restoration of New Testament Christianity were two of its basic themes. Hence, the phenomenon was labeled the Restoration Movement . Using the Bible as the only guide, and faith in Jesus Christ as the only foundation, the movement flourished.
Since the unity of all believers was and still is very important, differing opinions were and still are accepted on many subjects of the Christian life. "In the essentials of the faith we have unity, in opinions we have liberty, and in all things love" and "We are not the only Christians but we want to be Christians only" are two outstanding slogans that capture the spirit and intent of the Restoration Movement's founding fathers.
We celebrate the Lord's Supper each Sunday (see Why We Have The Lord's Supper Every Week brochure for more details). It is open for all to participate who consider themselves followers of Jesus.
We want you to know that no matter who you are or what your background is you are welcome at Oak Grove Christian . We pledge to you that we will do our best to help you grow in the Lord as you fellowship with us.
